What a privilege it was for Evangelist Luke Vardy & his wife Nicola to have been part of Reinhard Bonnke’s last crusade in Lagos, Nigeria!
There were around 300 evangelists & pastors invited to the crusade and for the passing on of the torch to the next generation. Every evening the gospel was preached and 100,000 of people gave their lives to Jesus. Luke & Nicola were amazed by the size of the crowds whilt they were there, most nights there was in excess off 600,000 people and on the final night just short of 1,000,000 people attended the event.
Every night it was great to see the hunger of the Nigerian people. They would come and worship for hours before God TV would even begin to broadcast the event. Some nights we would see the Nigerian men arriving to a mud field in their best suits kneeling to Jesus and worshiping Almighty God. The question has to be asked, would we see the same in the United Kingdom or the western world?
We hear all the time that people can only be healed in other nations like Nigeria and we know this isn’t the truth at all because as a ministry we have seen 100s healed in the UK. But I must admit we do see less in the western world and this is due to unbelief and lack of faith. Many of the people you see in the crusades were so hungry for God and so desperate they had put all pride to one side. Some of the crowd slept over night to receive their miracle!
Although it was great to see the crowds and to hear the great speakers, Luke, Nicola and everyone else were there to get involved. When the alter call was given for healing everyone started to pray for the sick.
One of the most challenging parts was when a small baby was brought to us to pray for. The baby was already pronounced dead by paramedics when we’d arrived but our faith was there. Luke prayed for a few dead people whilst there and was believing for them to be raised. To Luke’s disappointment he didn’t see any of them raised but still pressed in for the future.
Luke & Nicola loved hearing Reinhard Bonnke speaking as he’s always been and inspiration to them both. They’d like to thank everyone who partnered in prayer and financially to make this happen, without you they wouldn’t have received such a blessing!
The worship was electric every night and both Luke & Nicola received prayer and words from God. Luke actually had an open vision of a burning flame most nights he was there. Even though the open vision was great to see Luke on the plane home said to God, “I’d loved that fire to come home to the UK with me.” Well just maybe that’s the reason Luke went because after the plane stopped and they were getting off he had an open vision of the flame on the soil of the UK. Luke was so overwhelmed and now knew God had planned revival for his home country.
